The Apollo Rockets are the youth development project for Apollo Cycling Team.
We meet at 10am every Saturday morning in Lurgan Park by the bowling pavilion. All kids are welcome from 4 to 14, from kids with stabilisers to young racers.
We’ve only been active since Summer 2014 but already have 50+ youth members in the ranks, some of whom have raced in the Ulster MTB and Cyclocross leagues to great success, coming home with a haul of medals and a 3rd place in the Ulster Championship.
If you want to bring your kid along, come on ahead, it’s free and they’ll love it, they’ll make new friends and you never know maybe encourage you to get back on your bike.
Helmets are compulsory and a parent or suitable guardian must also be present to accompany the kids. As part of our Cycling Ireland mandate and for insurance reasons, kids are allowed to attend the session 3 times before we must ask you take out Cycling Ireland membership, either by joining Apollo, another club or as an unattached member. It’s a nominal fee of £5 per child which provides 3rd party insurance protection for your child and also allows them to take part in any organised races throughout the year. If you’d like to find out more about joining Apollo and Cycling Ireland then all the details are on our Join Apollo page
Apollo Rockets news and events will generally be posted on the main club website, but if you have Facebook one of the best ways to keep up to date with what’s happening is via our Club pages. Just click the link below and give us a like and we’ll keep you posted:
