UPCOMING COMMITTEE MEETING NOTICE.

Hi all, we’re having an open committee meeting in the the club rooms this coming Monday at 8pm. We need to finalise details of our upcoming events and the Apollo annual dinner. These will be the only items on the agenda and we will be sticking strictly to this agenda and any waffling will be cut off at the knees 🙂

OFFICIAL OPENING OF OUR CLUB ROOMS

Apollo CT would like to invite you, your club and the wider cycling community to the official opening of our new club rooms in Lurgan town centre on the evening of Saturday 25th of January at 7pm – 9pm.

During the Autumn of 2013 we took the keys to the building and have been getting it fit for purpose since. We’re now using the facility which has proven to be be especially
useful over the winter as we have two rooms we can use for indoor training along with a welcome room which we use for socialising.

We hope you can come and join us as we celebrate the opening of our club rooms which is in Lurgan town centre. Catering will be provided just bring yourselves and a smile.

As we spoke about at the AGM, here is the Access NI form with a detailed PDF of how to fill it in.  Download it and return to the Chairman Enda McDaid or Secretary Andy McGibbon and we will forward it on to Cycling Ulster.  Its important we get as many members of the club vetted as possible and if you have any questions please contact me at secretary@apolloct.com .

I’ll also be printing a batch out and leaving them in the club rooms for those of us who aren’t great with computers.

AGM 2014

The committee would like to thank everyone for the turn out at last nights AGM in our Club Rooms.  We feel we got a lot of valuable input and thank the club for re-electing us to the same positions and we hope we can reward your good faith.  With this being the end of our first year serving the club, we hope to  move the club forward on a positive agenda and develop the club rooms and youth programs.  As we said last night, the year hasn’t been easy for us as it takes a lot of time and effort to run a club but we have learned a lot and so long as we have your backing we can do it together.

The minutes of the meeting will be published in the coming days. Onwards, upwards and as ever UP APOLLO.

Wednesday Ladies Night News

Ladies night update:
After a discussion with the committee, Due to the drop in temperature and darker nights drawing in, it has been decided to move the Wednesday ladies night to a Saturday morning. Whilst the Ladies night has been a resounding success bringing in a large number of ladies to the club, the temperature is to drop to only a couple of degrees tomorrow night and so safety has to come first.
We have decided on a new route covering 21 miles all in, this will include a stop in Portadown for a coffee and any bun you may desire 🙂 the pace will be the same as the night rides, and will be separate from the main bun run – with a thought for everyone to meet at the coffee shop at roughly the same time and have a bit of craic together.
We have also arranged a spin class (you might have heard me mentioning this on Facebook once or twice, lol) in Columbia gym on Thursdays @ 8 pm starting this Thursday and running until 12th Dec, in an attempt to try and keep the ladies together over the winter months.
Whilst I am sure people will be disappointed about this, I hope you can see it is done with you all in mind….
